Your Bio
I am the CEO and President of Sustain Natural Foods, LLC. We create energy bars, with each sale, a part of the money goes towards improving food insecurity around the world.
Mission: we fight food insecurity through Sustainable Agriculture, improving value chains and subsistence farming and promoting economic development of Agriculture products thru training that helps poor people in developing countries improve their livelihood.
Vision: a world freed from food insecurity, where Agriculture is sustainable and communities and can flourish.
I am also a Freelance Sports Photographer, work in International Development for NGO's as an Agricultural Advisor specializing in value chains, I work conflict post conflict zones, accepting domestic & international assignments. When stateside, I shoot sporting events such as cycling, triathlon, running and other events as well: Teva Mountain Games, MudRuns etc.
Having recently worked for the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agriculture Service and for NGO's in Afghanistan, it afforded me the unique opportunity to immerse myself into a fascinating culture; building capacity in the Afghan government in Helmand, Kandahar and Uruzgan Provinces, hoping to return soon on another assignment.
As my journey takes me to interesting places, the danger is still there, however, the camera allows me to bring you up close, to places where most people will never see, beyond the walls. My photos capture the fascinating world and lives of people that have not been exposed to modern technological advances in Agriculture due to decades of war. These photos of the extraordinary and amazing Afghan people are here for you to have a peak into their culture, to look beyond the walls.
EQUIPMENT: My first "real" 35mm SLR camera was a Pentax K1000, I still have it, I used it in high school and in the Army, developing my own B&W photos was fascinating. I am a big fan of my brothers photos and of Nikon products due to my brother Dejan’s influence in the area of DSLR photography; I bought a Nikon D700 and D7000, it’s a completely different world of photography, allowing me to go back to using the basics of shooting pictures. Some of my gear includes: Nikon D700, Nikon D7000, some of my lens, include the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D, Sigma 70-500mm, Sigma DG 28-300mm 3.5-6.3, GPS, and would really love the Nikon AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR.
